Blank Slate’s Vision Team is a dedicated group of volunteers who all are passionate about growing and developing Blank Slate. The Vision Team is a broad sampling of people representing the diversity we hope to encounter and engage in Blank Slate. The team is dynamic and listening to how the community is developing. The team seeks to marshal the talent within the community to practice the values we share.

Feel free to write to us below and let us know if there is someone in particular that you would like to talk with about Blank Slate.

I am proud to be a part of the Blank Slate Vision Team because of the important work we are doing. We are creating diverse community where individuals can come together and express themselves in ways that are important to them without fear of judgment or disapproval. Blank Slate allows us to discover each other’s commonalities, as well as our differences, with kindness and compassion. I believe this type of community allows us to see each other, and respect each other, just as we are! In my work as a financial consultant, I get to work with people to help them realize and accomplish their financial goals and dreams. Two of the most satisfying things in my life are being able to help people and having the passion to experience new adventures. Through my work life, as a financial consultant, and my spiritual life, in volunteering my dedication to Blank Slate, I feel extremely fortunate that every day I get to experience the two most satisfying things in my life.

Aren’t we all searching for something? There’s a quiet mystery woven into life ththat shows up in the questions we ask and the experiences we seek. That sense of curiosity continues to inspire and engage me. Growing up, I never quite connected with organized religion and I often found myself questioning many of its traditions and practices. Blank Slate has provided a space where exploration feels open and personal…a place to learn, connect, and grow within a community that values curiosity over judgement. Being part of Blank Slate has allowed me to engage in meaningful conversations, expand my perspective, and feel supported as my thoughts evolve. It’s a place where discovery feels both grounded and worthwhile. Outside of Blank Slate, I enjoy spending time with my family and pets, studying French, playing board games, watching movies and series, and exploring interests like meditation, writing, storytelling, and acting.

Blank Slate answers my prayers to connect
with like-minded hearts and minds in our region. I am called to be in community with souls of various declared faiths and no declared faith, who share the wonder of seeing the face of God in every face we see. Born in Allentown, and back again after twenty plus years in Center City Philadelphia, I’m so appreciative of the kindness and easy-goingness of people here, compared to life in the ‘big city!’ Helping people live their best life through practices and private sessions for body, heart, mind and spirit, I have one foot in retirement and the other still working. Energy Medicine/ Kinesiology is a broad field of modalities clients experience in private appointments, where we work together to improve health and WellBeing. And, to help clients create better habits of self care, I teach a mindful, gentle form of yoga; tai chi; chi kung; and meditation. I am passionate about gardening, advocate for creating natural native environment (even in the city!); deep connection with people; and, as a Representative of the Inayatiyya Sufi Order, offer workshops/presentations of understanding of this spiritual path; personal spiritual guidance; individual and group retreats; classes and sharing groups for spiritual exploration and growth; healing experiences; and worship services and sacred rites.

I am grateful to be part of the Blank Slate Vision Team because of the opportunity it creates to bring people together in a genuine and meaningful way. In both my personal and professional life, I have seen how important it is for people to feel heard, supported, and connected. Blank Slate offers a space where that can happen naturally.

I have worked for Northampton County 911 and Emergency Management for over 20 years and currently serve as a telecommunicator after more than a decade in a leadership role. Those experiences have shaped how I show up for others by staying calm under pressure, listening closely, and helping people navigate difficult moments. It has reinforced my belief that connection, understanding, and simply being present can make a real difference.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, especially when it involves good food, trying new restaurants, or cooking and baking together. I appreciate humor, real conversations, and the kind of connections that make people feel comfortable being themselves.

I am part of the Vision Team because I believe in what Blank Slate is building. It is a community where people can come as they are, connect with others, and be part of something that is welcoming, open, and real.

My wife and I moved to Bethlehem 4 years ago. It can be challenging moving to a new area because of the difficulty in establishing new friends. My wife had already been a Blank Slate member and the group she was part of happily welcomed me. From the first time I met the people with Blank Slate I didn’t feel like an outsider. Blank Slate does make you feel connected. I was asked to be part of the Vision Team and I happily accepted knowing the purpose of Blank Slate.
