Community Garden season is beginning NOW!
Aug 29th will be our NIGHT UNDER THE STARS. This is a relaxed evening where everyone comes to our home…brings something to share and we just enjoy the gift of one another. It gives folks a wonderful opportunity to meet Slaters not in their group(s) and an opportunity to invite friends, family, neighbors to come out for a relaxing end of summer evening. More details will be forthcoming…but please reserve the evening for Blank Slate.
Oct 3 will be our next Slater Soup Sale. For those of you who have helped to make the soup (which is a far majority of you!)…please hold 8-2 for our soup making fundraiser. We made almost $5000 on our last soup sale. We have them twice a year. More details to come…but please hold the date to help make soup. We can’t do it without many, many hands.
Save the date for the annual Greater Allentown CROP Walk is on October 18 at 1:30.
Ripple provides meals to our Allentown neighbors who are homeless or recovering from addiction, and others who are generally marginalized in our society. It is Blank Slate’s hope to make and serve a healthy dinner once a month and to build relationships with our Ripple friends. Ripple is described as “a Christ-centered community-focused church seeking to have a ripple-effect in our neighborhoods and beyond by loving ourselves, our neighbors, and one another as we live towards peace and justice in Allentown.” You can find out more about Ripple here.
